In the Opticon RadioNet Pilot (ORP), some technological activities are carried out. One of this, JA3.1 “Optimising dispersive elements – Volume Phase Holographic Gratings”, is devoted to the development of VPHG dispersive elements to improve the observing capabilities of the facilities available to the Pilot community. This WP will contribute to a “simplified and more efficient trans-national access to a wider and integrated set of advanced research infrastructure services”. The process follows different steps starting with the call for proposal and finishing with the test and commissioning of the dispersing elements. In between, the evaluation of the proposals, the design and manufacturing of the VPHGs are carried out. A form is available for submitting the proposal.

The VPHGs are based on innovative holographic materials (Bayfol®HX) using a manufacturing process developed in the OPTICON H2020 project.
